Elected to the committee in 2020, Devra Keenan is currently in her second term as Mayor. She also serves on the Planning Board, the Environmental Commission, and Budget & Finance, Agricultural Advisory, Shade Tree, and Wildlife Management committees along with other county and regional committees. Becoming mayor during the COVID-19 pandemic, her focus has been on keeping folks well informed and safe. Launching a new website, quarterly newsletters and weekly ebulletins, a robust vaccination strategy and on-site testing have continued to save lives and help ensure Montgomery continues to thrive.

As Mayor, Devra has promoted accountability and fiscal responsibility – overseeing the lowest municipal tax increase in over 15 years and earning the coveted Triple A (AAA bond rating). A tireless advocate for the environment, under her leadership Montgomery Township earned Silver Certification from Sustainable Jersey; created a division of Land Stewardship and Environmental Sustainability; a Parks and Recreation Department. and passed numerous important and critical ordinances (Stormwater Management, and Electric Vehicle Charging to name a few) to help address flooding and to build a green infrastructure.

Locally Devra has been recognized for her commitment to the community with the 2021-2022 Elks Citizen of the Year Award and by Montgomery EMS for her advocacy and support.

When not performing her duties as Mayor, Devra runs High Impact Advisors LLC an Executive and Leadership Coaching boutique.  Devra’s educational background includes a B.A. from Brandeis University and graduate work in archaeology and forensic anthropology at The University of Connecticut. Prior to founding High Impact Advisors, she was a Corporate Vice-President with New York Life company.

Devra is a 24-year resident of Montgomery Township where she lives with her husband Sergey and son Max.
